The Junior grading on Saturday the 7th September was a great success with a number of additional commendations were awarded to those that achieved a score of 80% or more in one or more of the grading sections. The combination of the grading and a course proved tiring especially as we ran over the allotted time in order to fit in the free sparring!!
We would like to especially thank the audience for their support and Ray, Neil, Emily and Ruby for their help on the day.

On Saturday the 28th September we welcomed a smaller contingent of enthusiasts to the Fight Club. Despite several people succumbing to colds and flu, we still managed to have a good three and a half hours of continuous sparring in addition to having more opportunity to focus on the technical aspects.
The next follow up course for Nan Shaolin Wuzuquan Applications was held over six hours on Sunday the 29th September. It was refreshing to get such an interested group together in this relaxed forum where we were able to 'dissect' the forms and extract useful application information. The two forms that were used as the basis for improving self-defence as well as sparring were Sanzhan and Ershiquan. A lot of effort as well as conditioning was required by the participants. Some of the subjects covered included (not in order of priority); footwork, hips for combinations, timing (very important), mind set (Yi), controlling nerves under pressure (breathing and relaxation), power generation (coordinating hips and body), conditioning (minimising damage) and psychological considerations.
We would like to have another of these courses in the new year 2025.
If anyone would like more information, please get in touch...
