November 2024 Newsletter

We were really pleased with the turn out for the High Grades course on Sunday the 27th October. There was a good cross-section of adults and junios plus members from several different classes ie Shaolin Wuzuquan (Five Ancestors Fist), Chinese Boxing and Wushu. We were able to cover various forms and 'hand on' set spars for each system. It was interesting to start preparing for the adult four directional destruction requirement for those high grades.

The members of KIXX Martial Arts Club have been invited by the Honourable Mayor of Maidstone to join the Remembrance Parade on Sunday the 10th November 2024.

The marchers will form a line down Earl Street so we shall meet there at 10:15am.

The march usually starts at 10:30am.

Please wear KIXX Uniform (weather permitting) and ensure that all children are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Marcus and Steve will be leading the KIXX group during our absence in China.

Your group leader for this march will be Marcus.

WELL DONE to the following winners of the KIXX KIDz Chinese Boxing Merit Certificates for October...

Aaron, Oliver, Gen, Neil, Henry, Jayden, Gosha, Aaron, Oliver and Julia.

Please note that these certificates are awarded to acknowledge their extra effort in a range of skills and disciplines that were exhibited during the class (eg; effort, determination, flexibility, etc. etc.)

For those that would like to come and train Kung Fu, this class is on Thursdays from 5pm to 6pm (+8 yrs)...

CALENDAR DATES TO REMEMBER...

Sunday 10th NOV – Annual Remembrance Parade through Maidstone Town Centre. Marcus and Steve will be leading the KIXX group in our absence. For more information and to join the march, please get in touch...

Wednesday 6th to Saturday 16th NOV incl. – Please note that there will be a modified timetable in operation from the 6th to the 16th November inclusive (sadly, no Zoom lessons possible during this time). FIVE members of KIXX will be joining twenty other Wuzuquan members to represent Grandmaster Hans, Nan Shaolin Wuzuquan – Chee Kim Thong – UK / EUR Club at an International Gathering and Competition in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China. The five from KIXX will be; Nigel and Tracy Gilham, John Gomersall, Jon King and Paul Buckley (currently in Thailand). Joint Chief Instructors, Richard Timmis and Nigel Gilham will be leading the first Team to China since the sad passing of Grandmaster Han. This marks a very important occasion the Nan Shaolin Wuzuquan Club. We are sure that everyone would like to wish the whole group every success in their team mission to represent Grandmaster Han at the highest level.

Saturday 1st FEB 2025 – Grading. The next grading willl be held in February so everyone will have time prepare. Please speak to Tracy for more information about the requirements etc.
