Nan Shaolin Wuzuquan – Chee Kim Thong UK/EUR [Han Jin Yuan]
The above course was held at the KIXX Martial Arts Club full time training facility in Maidstone, Kent on Saturday the 8th of June 2024. We were very pleased to welcome senior instructors and students from the UK, Ireland, Norway and Holland to the event. Not all of the attendees were Wuzuquan students but due to the contact emphasis placed on the course all could practice and benefit together.
Joint Chief Instructor, Nigel Gilham, Senior Instructor, Ian Gauron (UK) and Senior Instructor Robert Bannon (IRE) gave much appreciated presentations that elaborated on partner contact training, mental and physical preparation, practice and objectives.
The range of topics used for practice each day included the Sanzhan Form, stance training with stance base (rooting), Chi Gong breathing and relaxation, Sanzhan partner catching (sensing and timing), conditioning (limb knocking, limb knocking set and set sparring routines), free style catching (fixed stance base), reaction training and self-defence applications. A continuous changing of partners was used to help turn theory into practice to adapt to new opponents and new conditions (intent, physical differences, range, etc). It was very important for everyone to understand and apply technique alongside objectives and new constraints.
We all observed a one minute silence in memory of Grandmaster Han who sadly passed away on the 11th June 2023.
We would like to thank everyone who invested their time and energy on this first day of the course. We sincerely hope that everyone managed to tune in to applying the theory in more demanding situations.

The above Nan Shaolin Wuzuquan course was held on Sunday the 9th of June, day two. We were very pleased to welcome senior instructors and students from the UK, Ireland, Norway and Holland to the event. Once again, not all of the attendees were Wuzuquan students but the same contact emphasis for the course provided benefit to all.
Joint Chief Instructor, Nigel Gilham and Senior Instructor, Peter Dillon (IRE) gave much appreciated presentations that elaborated on partner contact training, mental and physical preparation, practice and objectives.
Once again, we all observed a one minute silence in memory of Grandmaster Han who sadly passed away on the 11th June 2023. Almost a year to the day.
We would like to thank everyone who attended either one or or both of the two days.
We sincerely hope that we managed to help each other to improve our standard of application by turning theory into practice.

We held the course on Saturday the 22nd of June. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to train together in an atmosphere of competition preparation. Focus was placed on the upcoming competition in July organised by the BCCMA.
Fitness is always a key issue when sparring so circuit training was used to promote a strong emphasis on the cardio, strength, stamina and endurance...
For techniques such as, takedowns, footwork, head movement, accuracy and conditioning, the opportunity to spar with many different opponents provided a good method for learning to cope with a range of skill sets...
Sparring with many different partners is key to practising and improving; movement, striking, avoiding, countering, takedown prevention and competing in a small, defined, area for 'push outs' ...
Good luck to those entering the Competition in July...
WELL DONE to the following winners of the KIXX KIDz Chinese Boxing Merit Certificates for June...
