February 2026 Newsletter

On Sunday the 18th January we used the time to prepare for the upcoming grading on the 31st. The class was divided at times with students required to focus on their practice for their grade. Starting with basic technique checks, we moved to the forms and the set sparring. The time flew by. Towards the end of the session we helped relax the students by rehearsing the long stick vs short stick sparring set.

The first grading in 2026 was held on Saturday the 31st of January was really good fun and a great success. It was very encouraging to see so many parents and supporters giving so much encouragement to all of the students. A special thank you to the KIXX helpers; Ray, Trevor, Megan and Lola

Kids, come and train in the KIXX Kung Fu Juniors class on Thursdays from 5pm to 6pm (+8 yrs)...

Saturday 7th FEB – FIGHT CLUB Open Sparring Session (Usual Rules Apply). Open to experienced and new students. Get in touch for more information...

Sunday 8th FEB – Nan Shaolin Wuzuquan – Following the Fight Club on Saturday and its opportunities for freestyle applications during sparring, we decided to extend the session on Sunday morning to put extra focus on the Nan Shaolin Wuzuquan partner training routines and applications.

Chinese New Year 2026 - The Chinese New Year of the Fire Horse will begin on the 17th February and continue until the 3rd March 2026
